Daiva Inscription - Xerxes Celebrates His Victories

A stele, called the "Daiva Inscription," was found at the royal compound of Persepolis. Among other things, it gives a description of countries which Xerxes conquered:

King Xerxes says: By the grace of Ahuramazda [the supreme Persian god] these are the countries of which I was king apart from Persia. I had lordship over them. They bore me tribute. What was said to them by me, that they did. My law...held them...

Notably missing from the list are the Greeks who withstood the Great King and his Immortals.  They would never be subjects of the Persian Empire.
