Daubigny's Garden, without Cat - July, 1890 Biographies Social Studies Tragedies and Triumphs Nineteenth Century Life Visual Arts

This is another rendering of Daubigny's garden.  Vincent painted it during July of 1890 and wrote about it (on the 23rd of July, 1890) to his brother, Theo:  "...it is one of my most carefully thought-out canvases."  In the letter, he enclosed a sketch of the painting.

The completed canvas is on long-term loan to the Hiroshima Museum of Art.
