Death Preferable to Life on a Slave Ship

One day the kidnapped boy, and other captive Africans, were on the deck of their vessel.  The sailors caught numerous fish - more than they needed - and ate to their full satisfaction in front of the captives. 

Instead of sharing their leftovers with the kidnapped people, the slavers disregarded all the cries for food and dumped all the extras overboard.
