Eleven people died as a result of the Deepwater Horizon explosion and seventeen more were injured. The U.S. Coast Guard helped to evacuate the injured people, but most of the bodies were never recovered.
In this video, which contains clips from the U.S. Coast Guard, Adrian Rose (the health, safety and environmental manager for Transocean) discusses the fate of those on board the rig.
At the time the video was shot, the rig was still afloat. It sank two days after the explosion.
