Depression-Era Families Visual Arts American History Social Studies

As noted on their truck - "Oregon or Bust" - the Vernon Evans family, from South Dakota, left their drought-racked state to seek better opportunities in the American West.  This type of migration was common during the 1930s, as people found it difficult to "make do" where they were.
