Drawing - Cottages with a Woman Working in the Foreground Visual Arts Famous People Social Studies Nineteenth Century Life

In late May, of 1890, Vincent van Gogh made a drawing of a woman working in a field with cottages in the background.  

Using charcoal, a reed pen with black ink, blue pastel and white chalk on blue-gray laid paper, Vincent called this drawing "Cottages with a Woman Working in the Foreground."  It measures 470 x 620.5 mm.

It is currently owned by the Art Institute of Chicago.
