Emmett Till - The Murder Trial

During the trial of Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam - for the murder of Emmett Till - Mose Wright identified the two men as the kidnappers of his great-nephew.

Medgar Evers - who would also be murdered, eight years later - attended the trial after facilitating an NAACP investigation which helped to locate more witnesses for the prosecution.

In this clip, from the documentary "Emmett Till - The Untold Story," we hear from those (and other) individuals connected to the trial.  We also see the defendants with their wives (and children) in the courtroom, meet the white-male jurors and hear the reaction from Bryant and Milam after the verdict was announced.

We also hear from Emmett's mother - Mamie Till-Mobley - who was so sure the verdict would be unjust that she insisted on leaving the courthouse before the jury's deliberations were concluded.
