In this video-clip from The Greatest Story Ever Told, based on Gospel narratives and a book (of the same name) by Fulton Oursler (1893-1952), Roman soldiers drive spikes through the hands and feet of Jesus. As darkness descends over the area, Jesus speaks his last words ... and dies.

Max von Sydow depicts Jesus in this film, which is directed by George Stevens.
