Frederick Douglass Lecture Notes

Frederick Douglass was a much-sought-after speaker.  This image depicts a page from one of his lectures honoring John Brown.

Among other observations, Douglass makes this point about slave holders:

It is well said that no man can put a chain about the ankle of his fellow man without finding the other end about his own neck.
