Garibaldi Meets Victor Emmanuel at Teano

In this image we see Pietro Aldi’s fresco, “The Meeting of Garibaldi and King Victor Emmanuel II at Teano.”

Created around 1886, it represents the “handshake of Teano”—which took place in October of 1860—when Garibaldi handed-over control of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies to the King.

The fresco is located at Fondazione Musei Senesi in Siena, Italy.
