Godfrey of Bouillon - Kingdom of Jerusalem

Godfrey of Bouillon, leader of the First Crusade, becomes leader of the new Kingdom of Jerusalem in 1099.

Refusing the title of "king" or "lord," he is known both as a Duke and as Advocate of the Holy Sepulchre.
