Henri Becquerel - Discovers Radioactivity

Henri Becquerel discovered radioactivity on the 1st of March, 1896.  Like so many other important discoveries, this one was also accidental.

In this now-rare clip from a Disney program, Dr. Heinz Haber (shown, on the left side of this NASA photo, with Dr Wernher von Braun) - uses animation and other graphics to explain the significance of Becquerel's discovery.

In 1903, Becquerel shared the Nobel Prize for Physics with Marie and Pierre Curie.
