Ivan Denisovich - Part 6

As the zeks construct their building, disagreements erupt over proper procedures.  Should the mortar, for example, be thick or thin between layers of blocks?  Does the cold and icy climate impact the mortar as it dries?  Who is really in charge of this team of prisoners?

Working as fast as they can, the men run out of mortar.  Can they finish their jobs before the next team of laborers arrives at the work site?
