J. Warren Mead

J. Warren Mead Social Studies American History Famous Historical Events

On October 29, 1901, Leon Czolgosz was strapped into Auburn Prison's electric chair.  J. Warren Mead - the warden pictured here - gave the signal to proceed at 7:12 PM.

After Czolgosz was dead, Mead signed a Death Certificate which was filed in the Erie County archives.
