Jackie Robinson to President Kennedy - Pg 1

When violence against African-Americans escalated during the 1960s, Jackie Robinson worried that harm would come to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

After the assassination of Medgar Evers on the 12th of March, 1963 - in Jackson, Mississippi - Jackie sent a telegram to President Kennedy.  He was requesting precautionary measures to protect Dr. King who was planning to attend Medgar's funeral.
