Janet Vaughan - Somerville College Visual Arts

Margaret Roberts studied at Oxford University's Somerville College between 1943 and 1947.  During that time, Dr. Janet Vaughan was the college's principal.

Dr. Vaughan had a distinguished career as a scientist, in addition to her work at Somerville.  Her political philosophy differed, substantially, from her student's - the future Prime Minister, Margaret Roberts Thatcher.
