Japanese Propaganda - Co-Prosperity Sphere

Japanese Propaganda-Co-Prosperity Sphere

Wishing to conquer lands outside its home islands, Japan promoted the concept of a “Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.”

The idea behind this Japanese-leadership plan was to unite the people of Japan with the people of China and Manchukuo (a resource-rich section of Inner Manchuria which Japan occupied beginning in 1932).

This propaganda poster, from 1935, has this caption:

With the cooperation of Japan, China and Manchukuo the world can be in peace

Before long, Japan's concept for a Co-Prosperity Sphere extended well-beyond China and Manchukuo.
