Jan Hus refused to recant his beliefs, no matter how hard anyone tried to change his mind. He had endured months of imprisonment in a rat-infested jail, but he did not recant. He had endured lice-covered hair and rags, but he did not recant.
Knowing that he faced death by burning, if he did not recant, he made a final declaration on the 1st of July, 1415. The above text sets-forth his words.
