Kidnapped Slaves - Drowning to Escape

As conditions grew worse on the ship, kidnapped Africans grew weary and discouraged.  Equiano saw some of them jump overboard, when they had the chance.  Those actions immediately alarmed the crew who acted to prevent any more individuals from jumping into the sea.
