King Edwin - Anglo-Saxon at Yeavering Ancient Places and/or Civilizations Archeological Wonders Geography Legends and Legendary People

Edwin, King of Northumbria between 616-633, lived in a palace at Yeavering (today an important archeological site in Britain).

This image recreates how Edwin and his palace may have appeared in the first half of the 7th century. 

Scholars believe that the Beowulf epic would have been one of the stories told at such a place as men like Edwin and his warriors gathered in the great hall.
