Kristallnacht - The Night of Broken Glass, Part 3

WARNING:  THIS CLIP CONTAINS VIOLENT ACTIONS TAKEN AGAINST JEWISH PEOPLE IN NOVEMBER OF 1938.  PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

Survivors of Kristallnacht relate their memories from the Night of Broken Glass.  A pogrom, against the Jews, was underway.  Such an event had not happened since the middle ages.

Jewish men were rounded up for concentration camps, rabbis were debearded and Jewish scriptures and artifacts were burned.  Firemen, dispatched to make sure non-Jewish buildings did not burn, were dismayed when they were ordered not to help the Jews.

Some Germans were shocked and did what they could to help their Jewish friends and neighbors.  Others cheered at the burning synagogues.  Still others worried ... what would such hatred and violent actions ultimately mean for them?
