Leiden - Place of Pilgrim Homes

Leiden - Place of Pilgrim Homes American History Social Studies

Before this almshouse was built, in 1683, the site (in Leiden, The Netherlands) was the location of a home occupied by Rev. John Robinson, pastor of the "Pilgrim" families.  It is located near the Pieterskerk (Peter's Church).

The Pilgrims built very small homes in the garden behind Robinson's house.
