Les Moulins Draw - Area View

Les Moulins Draw - Area View Famous Historical Events World War II Geography

This is the view at Les Moulins Draw, looking east.

We learn more about this area from American Forces in Action - Omaha Beachhead (6 June - 13 June 1944), "Assault Plan," at page 14:

MARSHES ALONG THE BEACH FLAT were found at the foot of the bluff and were often mined [by German forces].

This photograph, taken June 1945, shows the beach from Easy Green, looking west past D-3 draw. The exit road over the bluff (center) was constructed by beach engineers.
