Alonzo Chappel (1828-1887) painted "The Last Hours of Abraham Lincoln" in 1868.

Using photos made by the Civil-War era photographer, Mathew Brady, Chappel included everyone who had visited the dying President during his final hours.  Not all of these individuals were in the room, at Petersen's Boarding House, at the same time.

The painting is now owned by the Chicago History Museum.
