Mary Surratt and Dr. Mudd at the Trial Crimes and Criminals American History Famous Historical Events Trials

During the conspiracy trial, Mary Surratt wore a black dress and bonnet.  She covered her face, for the most part, with a veil.  This drawing depicts her appearance at the trial - and that of Dr. Samuel Mudd, a co-defendant.
