Military Prejudice - Blacks Serving Whites Social Studies American History African American History

The 1925 report from the War College officially established racism as a policy in the U.S. military.  No branch of service was exempt. 

In this photo, which typifies a 1943 dining scene in the Navy, we see only white officers being served by only-black stewards.  All were employees of the U.S. government.
