Pablo Escobar and La Catedral

In this image we see the stunning view at La Catedral (The Cathedral) situated in the mountains above Envigado, Colombia.

Pablo Escobar selected this spot, to serve as his "prison," after he agreed to surrender to Colombian government officials in 1991. He lived in this compound for about thirteen months.

When Escobar surrendered, he flew to La Catedral in a helicopter. Note the helicopter pad in this photo by Tom Griggs.
