When she was married to her first husband - Louis II d'Orléans, Duke of Longueville - Mary of Guise lived at Chateaudun.

She and her husband had a healthy son, whom they named Francis.  Mary was expecting their second child when her husband died in June of 1537.  Louis, her second son, was born two months later (in August of 1537), but he died at the age of four months.

She reportedly kept the last letter she received from her husband until the end of her own life.
