Pliny's Route From Misenum to Stabiae

This map image depicts the route which Pliny the Elder took as he left Misenum (today's Capo Miseno) for the port town of Stabiae.  He was planning to help friends who were worried about the effects of Vesuvius' eruption.

Notice the location of Herculaneum and Vesuvius in this map.
