Prosecution of McKinley's Murderer - News Article

After President McKinley died, Leon Czolgosz was tried for murder.

The trial was very short (about three hours) and jury deliberations even shorter (about thirty minutes).  Czolgosz was found guilty of murder in the first degree.

The now-convicted murderer was sent to Auburn Prison to await the execution of his sentence:  death in Auburn's electric chair.
