When a person is responsible, they can be counted on by others to fulfill tasks or deeds.  These individual are dependable and reliable, and everyone knows that they are committed to follow-through on their word.

In AwesomeStories, there are many stories about people who knew their responsibilities and are known because they could be depended upon to fulfill their responsibility.  One such individual is Yuri Gagarin, a Russian cosmonaut who became the first person in the world to complete a space flight.  Yuri knew his task was historic and it was on his shoulders to succeed in this task and demonstrate that man can venture into space safely.  Before he left on this flight, he wrote a letter to the people of world expressing his thoughts.  You can read it here: Letter from Yuri Gagarin
