Royal Sarcophagus at Roskilde Geography Legends and Legendary People World History

Built in the 12th and 13th centuries, Roskilde Cathedral is the first Gothic church to be built of brick.  Since the 15th century, this cathedral has been the main burial site for Danish monarchs.

It is located in the ancient town of Roskilde, the setting (according to Beowulf scholars) of Britain's national epic (Beowulf).
