The Black Death - Where Did It Originate?

Following a series of disasters in Europe - such as a colder climate, impacting crops, leading to insufficient food - a strange disease began to kill people in Asia.  Very soon, that disease spread west.

Applying the logic of the day (or the lack thereof), who was to blame for this pestilence?
