Thinking and Analyzing the Text as You Read

Standard Basis:

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RH.6-8.1

Task:

Read all of the chapters of the story. Take notes as you read, placing emphasis on the quotes, main points, and characters. Compile a list what you are thinking as you read each chapter. For example, in Chapter One why did Mrs. Roosevelt disregard the opinions of her bodyguards? or What does the quote at the beginning of the page mean? In your answer, include at least one quote from each chapter as supporting evidence for your thoughts.
