Township Unrest - Anti-Apartheid Violence

It is said that "Soweto sneezed ... and then we caught the fever." 

By the 1980s, township unrest continued as South African blacks resisted apartheid's regime and policies. News clips, like these, were seen around the world.

By 1985, a state of emergency existed in key areas.
