Trailer - "The Devil's Miner"

Basilio Vargas is 14 years old.  He and his brother - 12-year-old Bernardino - work in the silver mines near the Bolivian city of Potosí.

Despite their young age, the boys work long hours with other miners at Cerro Rico.  They sometimes chew on coca leaves to alleviate their hunger pains.

This clip is from a 2005 documentary about the Vargas brothers and the other miners.  The title is based on the miners' fears of "Tio" - the "Devil" - whom they believe makes the mines unsafe.
