Tulip Fields of Holland, Michigan Social Studies Geography

Holland, Michigan is known for its annual Tulip Festival.  Held during early May, when the brightly colored tulips are usually in full bloom, the festival is a major attraction for people throughout the U.S.

As in The Netherlands - where many of Holland's earliest settlers were born - the city of Holland boasts many tulip farms where brightly colored tulips are a welcome sign of spring.
