U.S. Public Opinion Report - WWI

Image of the "Public Opinion Report: Regarding the Treaty of Versailles Armistice."  This document reveals the attitudes of the American people near the end of World War I, when an Armistice brought the fighting to an end.

At the beginning of the report, we learn how the American people viewed the war:

They are tired of the war and everything belonging to it. They are almost hysterically anxious to get back to peace conditions, and they cannot quite understand why the process takes such a long time.
