Vostok 1 - Yuri Gagarin Launches into Space

On the 12th of April, 1961, Yuri Gagarin was the first person to fly in space.  He orbited the Earth once, in his Vostok space capsule, then safely returned.  His world-changing flight had lasted 108 minutes.

This clip is from a Russian-language documentary (not dubbed into English, so the sound track is muted) which depicts preparations for the first space flight, known as Vostok 1

Move the video forward - to 4:04 - to see Gagarin's space launch and flight.
