Warm Springs - FDR Dies at the Little White House

President Roosevelt dies on the 12th of April, 1945, at his “Little White House” in Warm Springs, Georgia.  FDR’s body, followed by his beloved dog, is placed on a train.  It travels 700 miles to the nation’s capital.

Throngs of people, many of them crying, line the streets to pay their respects to the fallen chief.  After lying in state in Washington D.C., Roosevelt’s body travels to Hyde Park where the president's remains are buried at his family estate.
