Will Woman Suffrage be Good for Womanhood?

New York State held a referendum on women's suffrage in 1915.  People on both sides of the issue held rallies, published ads and generally argued the issue.

At the end of the voting, suffrage for New York women was still denied.  In Rochester - where Susan B. Anthony lived - the referendum failed by a tally of 18,297 to 13,340.  It failed by similar margins in the rest of the state.
