Battle of Bunker Hill, by Winthrop Chandler

Because Winthrop Chandler (1747-1790) was essentially self-taught, his work has been referred to as "folk art." Working mostly in his home town of Woodstock, Connecticut, he also painted the Battle of Bunker Hill with its interesting view of Boston Harbor.
