Bloody Butchery of the British TroopsThe mission of the British troops, on the 19th of April (1775) was (among other things) to confiscate colonial arms and supplies. A broadside, originally printed at Salem a few days after the battles of Lexington and Concord, depicts coffins of the forty Americans who died in the battles.
