Patrick Henry

Known for his impassioned orations and support of American independence, Patrick Henry (1736 - 1799) was born in Virginia. He was highly critical of the Stamp Act, introducing seven resolutions against it (to Virginia's House of Burgesses).

Today he is most well-known for his speech on freedom from Britain: "Give me liberty, or give me death!"
