Siege of Boston, 1775-76 - Annotated Map from USMA

After Britain’s costly victory on the Charlestown peninsula, General Washington and his Continental Army continued the American siege of the British garrison in Boston.

Surrounding British forces on three sides - the sea was their only opening - the rebels were finally successful when General Howe ordered his men to evacuate Boston on March 17, 1776.

This annotated map, created by the U.S. Military Academy, provides details of the siege.  Click on it for a better view.
