Three Assaults at Bunker Hill - Annotated MapWhen British troops mounted their first attack at Breed’s Hill, the Patriots repelled them. The same thing happened during the second attack. Running out of ammunition, the Americans were unable to hold the hill during the third assault. The Redcoats’ victory was costly, but it could have been different had the British commanders heeded the advice of General Clinton. Click on the map for a more detailed review.
