300 - Reconstruction of Delphi, Home of Delphic OracleDelphi was the holiest of sites in ancient Greece. Built as a shrine to honor the Greek god Apollo, it was also home to the Oracle of Delphi (known as the Pythia). Greeks would consult with the Oracle before commencing any major event. This drawing depicts an artist's reconstruction of Delphi.
