Apollo 11 - Launch and Journey to the Moon

July 20, 1969 was a “day that shook the world.” Apollo 11 successfully reached the moon and two astronauts (Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin) stepped onto the lunar surface. It was one of the greatest technological achievements in world history.

This video clip - from the BBC - combines historical footage, interviews and recreated scenes about Apollo 11's background and launch. It concludes near the end of the three-day journey to the Moon, at about the time the crew encountered last-minute challenges just before their lunar landing.
