Attempted Assassination of President Reagan

WARNING:  THIS HISTORICAL FOOTAGE DEPICTS THE ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION OF PRESIDENT REAGAN.  THE VIDEO DEPICTS TWO OTHERS WHO WERE SHOT AND SURVIVED.  IN THE CHAOTIC ATMOSPHERE WHICH FOLLOWS, LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL USE LANGUAGE WHICH MAY BE OFFENSIVE.  PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

Sixty-nine days after he was sworn in as President, Ronald Reagan was shot by John Hinckley.  Although Reagan survived, it had been a close call.  His press secretary, Jim Brady, never fully recovered from the bullet which struck his head.

This historical footage was rediscovered nearly twenty-five years after the shootings took place.  It depicts the chaotic scene as law enforcement officials attempted to arrest the would-be assassin.
