Attila the Hun - Battle of the Catalaunian PlainsAttila continued as a threat against Rome and demanded significant tribute from its ambassadors. Then Attila announced he would commence a battle in Gaul (modern France). This meant that Aetius, the Roman general, and Attila would meet each other on the battlefield. Citizens, meanwhile, fled in advance of the Huns' arrival.
